TSG is helping Raleigh families head back to school

We reside in, work with, and embrace our community. This year, The Select Group has donated more than 3,500 items to the Raleigh Rescue Mission’s 2nd Annual Backpack Giveaway Event scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 12, from 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

About the event

Raleigh Rescue Mission will be giving away backpacks filled with school supplies to children in need throughout Wake County. The giveaway event will be held at the Raleigh Rescue Mission Store and Donation Center, located at 4700 Capital Blvd., from 9 a.m. until supplies run out – first come, first serve.

The goal this year is to distribute 2,000 backpacks to children who need them the most. Children must be present to receive a backpack, one backpack per child.

• PDQ restaurant will be cooking onsite from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and giving away free chicken tenders and discount coupons to meals in their Raleigh Store.
• Kona Ice will stop by to sell shaved ice treats.
• EVERYTHING inside Raleigh Rescue Mission Store and Donation Center is 50% OFF ALL DAY!!
• The first 200 families will receive a free family pass from Marbles.
• Muddy the Mudcat will be onsite from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. to give out backpacks, take photos with children, and sign autographs.
• Hourly gift card giveaway (Target, Walmart, local restaurants, and more)
